What is an IP address?
It's the address your ISP assigns to your connection so the internet knows where to send responses. Think of it like a return address on mail. Every website you visit sees it.
What's a WebRTC leak?
WebRTC needs your real IP for peer-to-peer connections, so it asks your network stack directly — completely bypassing any proxy or VPN. If we see a public IP in the STUN response that doesn't match your server-side IP, that's a leak.
How does proxy/VPN detection work?
We check the IP against databases of known VPN exit nodes, proxy networks, hosting providers, and Tor relays. We also look at HTTP headers — if X-Forwarded-For or Via is present, that's a strong signal a proxy is in the chain.
What can someone learn from my IP?
Approximate city, your ISP, your timezone, and whether you're on a residential or data center connection. It won't reveal your name, exact address, or phone number — but it's enough to geo-target ads and block regional access.
Can I look up any IP?
Yes. The tool detects your own IP automatically, but you can type any public IPv4 or IPv6 address into the lookup field and get the same geolocation and proxy detection results.
